Privacy notice

Last reviewed on 8 November 2026

Here is what becomes of information about you, first when you only read these pages and then when you send a tour request or write to us. The short version: reading collects nothing that names you, and what you send us is kept only as long as a trip needs it.

Who is responsible

The website is published by Cat Mitty from Cat Mitty Hotel in Litomyšl, Czech Republic, which acts as the controller of the personal data described here. The postal address and telephone numbers are in the contact box at the foot of every page; mail goes to [email protected].

When you only read

Reading a page does not ask for your name, does not build an advertising profile and does not load anything from another company’s server. The site has no user accounts and takes no payments online. Two small values may be stored in your browser’s localStorage: catmitty_age_ok remembers that you answered the age question on the front page, and catmitty_consent keeps your answer on the cookie bar, accepted or declined. Neither leaves your device on its own.

The server that hosts the site keeps an ordinary access log: the address of your connection, the time, the page and the type of browser. The log is used to keep the site running and to look into faults, and it is deleted after fourteen days.

When you send a tour request

The request form on a tour page asks for your name, email address and telephone number, the tour, the number of travellers, a preferred departure date, the time window and time zone for a call back, and any notes you add, such as diets or mobility. These details go to the Cat Mitty manager who looks after the tour, who uses them to telephone you, confirm the price and prepare a written proposal. A copy of the request is also kept in your browser under catmitty_requests, so that the confirmation screen can show it and you can change the call time; clearing site storage removes it.

A request that does not become a trip is deleted twelve months after it arrives. One that does becomes part of the travel file described below.

When you write or call

A message or a call about a tour carries what you choose to tell us: your name, your contact details, the dates and the people travelling. We use it to answer you and, if you travel, to arrange the trip with the guesthouses, guides and carriers on the route. Correspondence about a trip that did not happen is deleted after one year. Records of trips that did happen are kept for as long as Czech accounting and tax law requires, which for invoices is ten years.

Analytics and advertising

No analytics or advertising tag is switched on by default. If one is ever added, it will run only after you press Accept on the cookie bar, and the cookie notice will name it first.

Legal grounds

We handle data to answer your tour request or message and to prepare and perform a travel contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), to meet duties under Czech law such as accounting and tax records (Article 6(1)(c)), and, only with your consent, for any analytics (Article 6(1)(a)). The server log rests on our legitimate interest in a working, secure site (Article 6(1)(f)).

Who else sees it

Our hosting provider and our mail provider process data on our behalf under written agreements. When you travel, the people who look after you on the route receive what they need, such as your name for a room or a dietary note for a dinner. We do not sell data and do not hand it to advertisers.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to take a copy with you, and to withdraw consent at any time. Send that request to the hotel address at the top of this notice. Czech data protection rules sit in Act No. 110/2019 Coll. alongside the GDPR, and the supervisory authority is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, ÚOOÚ), Pplk. Sochora 727/27, 170 00 Praha 7, uoou.gov.cz. You may complain to it at any time.

Children

The site and the tours are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 15, the age Czech law sets for consenting online on one’s own.

Changes

If this notice changes, the new version appears here with a new date at the top. When a change matters, a short note about it stays on the front page for four weeks.

Play happens in one room of Cat Mitty Hotel and nowhere else: this website takes no bets, holds no accounts and moves no money.
