Before you come in
Are you 18 or older?
Cat Mitty runs tours, but its hotel keeps a casino room, so the front door of this site asks first. Downstairs in Litomyšl the same answer is checked against an identity document at every visit.
Then this page is not for you yet. Come back on the day you turn 18, and the cats will still be here.
Small groups · old towns · cats on doorsteps
Slow tours for small groups, with a cat on every doorstep
We take eight people at a time into old towns and harbours, and we leave the days loose enough for a second coffee. Every trip starts and ends at our own townhouse hotel under the arcades of the market square in Litomyšl.

Eight guests at most
Eight is the limit
A table for eight, a minibus that is never full and a guide who knows every name by lunch on the first day.
A house to come home to
The first coffee of the trip and the last one are served on the same square, at the same window.
Cats counted, never promised
We log every cat we meet. The tally is honest, so some trips come home with three and some with ninety.
Next on the ribbon
Four of our eight tours. Each one is a ribbon of five or six days, tied at both ends to the front desk in Litomyšl.

Home base on the market square
Cat Mitty Hotel is a Renaissance townhouse of nineteen rooms on Smetanovo náměstí in Litomyšl, with an arched stone portal, a cream and rose front, attic rooms under a steep roof and a breakfast room that smells of the bakery on the corner.
The night before a tour, the group gathers in the hall under the chandelier to meet the guide. The night after, the same chairs are waiting, and so is the cat.
A small casino on the first floor
Cat Mitty Casino is a room of the hotel itself, the old music salon with its stucco ceiling. It has six tables and a short bar and opens five evenings a week, Wednesday to Sunday.
From the front desk it is thirty-four steps across the hall, up the broad stair and along the gallery. Entry to the casino is from 18, and the staff at the doors check a document every time.
